Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana has revealed his delight at being compared to Matt Le Tissier.

Lallana has come through the ranks at St. Mary's and has been with the team from their League One days up until their current guise as a Premier League outfit, and he expressed his happiness at being compared to Saints legend Le Tissier.

"It's obviously a massive compliment to be mentioned in the same sentence as Le Tiss, but he was a class above," Lallana told Goal.com.

"When I watched him in his testimonial I still have vivid memories of him knocking the ball over someone's head and then nearly chipping it in the top corner."

Southampton host Sunderland in the Premier League today after beginning their campaign with a 1-0 win away to West Bromwich Albion last week.
