Half-Time Report: No goals for Southampton, Millwall

Southampton and Millwall have headed into half time goalless in their Capital One Cup match at The New Den, despite both sides creating chances in the opening 45 minutes this evening.

Graziano Pelle had a chance to give the visitors the lead just moments after kickoff, but the summer signing's effort was well blocked by Shaun Williams, before a follow-up shot went wide.

A long ball forward fell for Shane Long, but the striker could not reach the ball before the Millwall defender cleared the danger.

The home side began to see more of the ball, and almost took the lead when Byron Webster headed just wide from a Jack Powell corner on the 20-minute mark.

Magaye Gueye tried to catch the visitors out with a quick break after being picked out by a long ball forward, but sent his finish wide of the post.

Steven Davies sent a long ball into the box just before the break, which was deflected on towards Long, but it just missed the former Hull forward to leave the scores level at half time.
