Ronald Koeman prepared for Victor Wanyama layoff

Ronald Koeman fears that Victor Wanyama could miss "four to five weeks" of Southampton's season after damaging his hamstring against Ipswich Town last night.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman believes that Victor Wanyama could miss up to five weeks of action after picking up a hamstring injury in last night's 1-0 victory against Ipswich Town.

The 23-year-old, who has played a key part in the Saints' impressive campaign to date, had to be taken off shortly before half time at Portman Road in the FA Cup clash.

"It is a real negative," Koeman told reporters following the game. "We already have some other injuries. If it is a hamstring injury then he will be out for four to five weeks."

Wanyama has made 24 appearances for Southampton this season in all competitions.
