Anthony Gardner signs for Sheffield Wednesday on free transfer?

Crystal Palace defender Anthony Gardner has reportedly decided to join Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old was expected to leave Selhurst Park this summer after running down his contract at the club.

While it is unclear whether the Eagles were willing to keep the defender at the club, it is believed that Gardner has decided to try his hand at the newly-promoted Championship outfit, according to the Daily Star.

Gardner spent just one season as a Palace player following a loan stint at the club in 2010.
