Sheffield Wednesday appeal Keiren Westwood red card

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that they have lodged an appeal against Keiren Westwood's red card from the weekend.

The Owls stopper was dismissed for a professional foul in the second half against Derby County, conceding a crucial penalty that saw Wednesday lose 3-2 to the new league leaders after leading twice in the game.

Wednesday are hoping that the red card will be overturned in time for him to feature against Millwall on Tuesday.

If the appeal is dismissed, Westwood will serve a one-match ban and miss the trip to The Den.
