Fernando Forestieri talks up Lucas Joao partnership

Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri praises "talented" teammate Lucas Joao after starting alongside the Portuguese for the first time.

Fernando Forestieri has predicted that his strike partnership with Lucas Joao will continue to go from strength to strength.

The duo started alongside each other for the first time on Saturday afternoon as Sheffield Wednesday registered a 1-1 draw with Hull City.

On-loan Watford forward Forestieri was on the scoresheet at Hillsborough, but he was quick to praise the performance of his powerful teammate on the back of claiming a well-earned point.

"We have a lot of quality and talented players in the squad, like Lucas Joao," he told the club's official website. "This was the first game we played together and I feel comfortable with him, we need to help each other and if we can then we will become very strong.

"Lucas has big talent, we need to help him because he is young but he's knows the scenarios and I like him. He plays very well."

Wednesday remain in the top half of the Championship table following the home draw, sitting four points adrift of a playoff spot.
