Neil Warnock rubbishes Sheffield United return

Neil Warnock says that he is not in talks to become the new manager of Sheffield United.

Neil Warnock has dismissed reports linking him with the newly-vacant managerial post at his former club Sheffield United.

The Blades last night confirmed that they had parted company with Danny Wilson after picking up just 10 points in the previous eight games - a run which has seen the team slip to fifth in League One.

Reports emerged linking Warnock, who recently left Leeds United, with a return to Bramall Lane, but Oliver Holt of The Mirror announced on Twitter that it is just rumour.

He tweeted: "Heard the rumours about Neil Warnock going back to Sheff U. Just spoke to him. He's in Cornwall. 'Not me, son,' he said."

Warnock was previously in charge of Sheffield United between 1999 and 2007.
