Evans loses appeal against rape conviction

Former Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has lost an appeal against his conviction for rape.

The 23-year-old was jailed for five years in April after being convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman, but he has reiterated his innocence since the incident.

The Court of Appeal not only rejected his appeal for the conviction for rape, but also against his five-year jail sentence.

Evans was released from Sheffield United after being found guilty earlier this year.
