Nigel Clough: 'Sheffield United will improve'

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough believes that the side will improve once they cut out individual errors.

Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough has expressed his belief that the side will improve under his stewardship.

The former Derby County boss has won two and lost two of his four games in charge of the Bramall Lane club.

Clough is confident that the team's fortunes will change once they stamp out individual mistakes.

"In all four games to date we have had the lion's share of possession, created the most chances and, arguably, had the better of the game," Clough told the club's official website.

"The sending off [of Febian Brandy] and the fantastic first goal proved to be the difference at Shrewsbury, whilst two mistakes have cost us dear against Gillingham. In the two victories we didn't make individual errors.

"The senior players here are terrific with the younger lads and as a coaching staff we certainly know how to handle these tricky situations. The experienced lads have been through it themselves and know what it is like to be in the position of our youngsters at the present time."

United travel to Bristol City on Saturday.
