Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough: 'Players are starting to gel'

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough insists that his side deserved their 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United.

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough has declared that his players are finally starting to work as a unit after watching them see off Scunthorpe United 4-0 in League One.

The Blades manager praised his team's showing across the pitch and said that the scoreline was a fair reflection of the match.

"I thought we deserved it in all areas of the game. I thought we deserved our clean sheet and I thought we deserved our four goals," he told reporters.

"Some of the movement was good and our work-rate was certainly as good as it has always been.

"Hopefully things are just gelling. Half a dozen new players have come into the team and they're just starting to gel."

The result sees the Blades strengthen their push for the playoffs, consolidating their position in fifth place in the league table, while Scunthorpe are just a point clear of the drop zone in 18th.
