Gordon Strachan names three uncapped players in Scotland squad

Gordon Strachan named three uncapped players in his Scotland squad for the Wales and Serbia games.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has named three uncapped players in his squad for the two World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Serbia.

Dundee's Gary Mackay-Steven, previous B-team member George Boyd of Hull City and Brighton & Hove Albion's Liam Bridcutt, pending SFA clearance, will all be in Strachan's latest squad.

"Gary Mackay-Steven has been terrific this season and I think it is only right that we recognise young Scottish talent," Strachan told the SFA website.

"Liam is a player I have known for a while and is highly regarded in the holding midfield position.

"Again, George is a player I have watched for years - I tried to sign him at Middlesbrough - and is in good form at Hull."

Scotland are currently bottom of Group A after four games.
