Steven Naismith then had his effort saved as the Scots dominated the opening period.

However, they found themselves behind on 19 minutes when Mark Bresciano found the net for the Aussies.

Craig Levein's men equalised after 28 minutes thanks to a Rhodes header on what was the striker's first senior start for his country.
