Preview: Scotland vs. Gibraltar

Scotland vs. Gibraltar

Scotland will be confident of building on the impressive start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign when they host Gibraltar on Sunday evening.

Since taking over at the start of 2013, boss Gordon Strachan has transformed his side into genuine contenders to make the European Championships in France, winning nine and drawing three of his 18 games in charge.

The Tartan Army currently sit in third spot in their group after a 2-2 draw at leaders Poland and a 1-0 victory over Republic of Ireland, and with a trip to Germany also out of the way, Strachan will have every belief that the minimum that they can secure is a playoff spot.

After warming up for the game with a 1-0 triumph over Northern Ireland, Strachan must decide whether to recall several of his senior players and consider whether to name an attacking lineup to improve their goal difference.

Midfielder Scott Brown is likely to earn a start, while David Marshall is expected to replace Craig Gordon in goal.

Sunday's fixture at Hampden Park represents the first game for Gibraltar interim coach David Wilson, who has replaced Allen Bula.

The Scot will be making his managerial bow after acting as assistant to Bula, but it is unclear whether Wilson will make sweeping changes to his team.

Wilson would have been encouraged after watching the team only lose 4-0 away at Germany late in 2014, but they remain without a goal in this qualifying campaign.

Preston North End defender Scott Wiseman should feature in defence.
