Former Rangers goalkeeper Stefan Klos has warned Scotland that they are in for a tough night when they host Germany in Monday's Euro 2016 qualifier.

The Scots are in desperate need of points following their 1-0 defeat to Georgia, but Klos said that they will struggle to find them against the World Cup holders.

"Everything is possible in football but it is difficult to see Scotland winning on Monday night," he told PA. "The German team is very confident, very strong.

"It will be the toughest game Scotland will have in the last three games, it will be really tough.

"Germany are hot favourites. They had a slow start to the campaign but the players didn't have a long break after winning the World Cup."

Klos went on to say that the Georgia loss could have a devastating impact on Scotland's qualifying campaign, with the Republic of Ireland now having moved above them into third place in Group D.

"Until last night I think Scotland had quite a good chance to qualify," he added.

"One game can change a lot, for good and bad, and I think yesterday was a step back."

Klos spent more than a decade playing in Scotland, featuring for Rangers between 1999 and 2007.
