Robert Muhren scores a second-half equaliser for AZ

AZ twice have twice come from behind to secure a 2-2 draw away at SBV Excelsior.

The hosts took an early lead as Jeff Stans fired the ball into the back of the net, after a positive start.

Markus Henriksen missed a chance to equalise from close range minutes later, but he made up for it with a thumping finish after he was found by Guus Hupperts.

Excelsior almost regained the lead through Kevin van Dierman's header, but it was palmed away by Sergio Rochet.

However, the keeper couldn't stop Tom van Weert giving the home side a half-time lead when he scored their second goal from inside the box.

After the break, Excelsior could have killed off the game as Jordan Botaka was unmarked in the box, but his shot went over the bar.

They were punished by AZ shortly after as Robert Muhren crashed a shot into the net off the underside of the upright.

Both sides pushed forward for a winner but failed to create a great opening, and the game fizzled out to a draw.
