Chris Wondolowski wins it for San Jose Earthquakes

San Jose Earthquakes have beaten Sporting Kansas City 1-0 at Buck Shaw Stadium in the MLS.

Chris Wondolowski's strike 10 minutes after the restart was enough to give the Earthquakes the points in California.

The best chance of the first half fell to the visitors when Claudio Beiler went close with a left-footed shot from outside the area on 18 minutes.

Wondolowski's winner came on 55 minutes when he met a Steven Beitashour cross with a header that nestled into the bottom corner.

The American could have had a second eight minutes later but he fired wide from inside the six-yard box, before blazing over from outside the area on 78 minutes.
