Denmark international Simon Poulsen joins Sampdoria

Serie A club Sampdoria have completed the signing of Simon Poulsen.

The full-back, who had been a free agent since leaving AZ Alkmaar earlier this summer, had previously been linked with Premier League outfit Aston Villa.

However, Samp have won the race for the Denmark international, who has penned a three-year contract.

He will have to wait for his debut though as the paperwork was not completed in time for this evening's encounter against AC Milan.

Instead, Samp's new number 15 is expected to make his first appearance against Siena next weekend.
