Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa heading for Saint-Etienne?

Newcastle United defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Saint-Etienne ahead of a return to France this summer.

The 25-year-old joined Newcastle from Montpellier in 2013, but has largely struggled to adapt to English football.

According to Newcastle Evening Chronicle, Saint-Etienne have had a bid accepted by the Magpies and are confident of bringing the defender back to Ligue 1.

The centre-back has three caps for France.
