Roma consider Pjanic extension

Roma are reportedly planning to extend the contract of Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic this week, in an effort to warn off potential suitors next summer.

Pjanic was heavily linked with Manchester United among others last summer, but new Roma coach Rudi Garcia wanted to keep the playmaker and has made him central to his plans for the Giallorossi this season.

Garcia now wants to reward Pjanic with a fine start to the campaign by offering him improved terms, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 23-year-old's current contract expires in 2015 but he will now reportedly be given a new deal that ties him to the Eternal City for a further three years.

Pjanic has helped Roma make their best ever start in Serie A this season, scoring three times as Garcia's men have clocked up nine successive victories.
