McGeady wary of Faroe Islands

Aiden McGeady has warned his teammates that they can't take anything for granted in their World Cup qualifying clash against the Faroe Islands.

Lars Olsen's side are rock bottom of Group C and have lost all of their qualifying fixtures so far, but the winger believes that it will be far from straightforward for Giovanni Trapattoni's men.

"You don't want to disrespect the Faroes - it was a tough game when we played there and Sweden had a tough game there as well," McGeady told Sky Sports News.

"First of all, we just want to win. If we can get some goals, then that would be nice, but first and foremost it's just trying to get the three points because it won't be easy.

"You are expected to go there and beat the Faroes like it's a pretty easy game, but it's not. These guys will play football and they can make it very difficult for you."

Ireland are currently fourth in Group C but are in a three-way battle for second place as they are on the same number of points as both Sweden and Austria.
