Robbie Keane sits out Republic of Ireland training

Robbie Keane has sat out the Republic of Ireland's latest training session ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier against Germany.

The 33-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy striker is believed to be suffering with an ankle problem.

However, Keane is expected to feature for his country when they face the Germans in Cologne.

Ireland, who are currently in fourth place in Group C, saw their chances of qualification end last month with a 1-0 defeat to Austria.
