Martin O'Neill praises Robbie Keane performance in win over Gibraltar

Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill has praised the performance of Robbie Keane in his side's 4-0 win over Gibraltar.

The Los Angeles Galaxy forward notched a brace in the victory to move just one goal behind Gerd Muller in the all-time list of highest international goalscorers, putting him in 14th place overall.

"It was a great effort by him tonight," O'Neill told Sky Sports News. "I didn't realise he's just one behind the great Gerd Mulller. That's not bad."

Ireland are third in Group D following their victory, two points behind second-placed Poland.
