Martin O'Neill unconcerned by Bosnia-Herzegovina momentum

Martin O'Neill acknowledges that Republic of Ireland face a tough task against an in-form Bosnia-Herzegovina, but insists his side will not throw away their chance.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has insisted that the feel-good factor felt by Bosnia-Herzegovina heading into this week's crucial Euro 2016 playoff 'does not bother him'.

The Dragons have won four out of five fixtures so far this calendar year to recover from a slow start to their qualifying campaign.

Bosnia finished behind Belgium and Wales in Group B, but they managed to pick up enough points to place third and book a two-legged affair with Ireland over the next week.

Despite the opposition team having momentum on their side, O'Neill insists that his side will not throw away their second chance to reach next summer's finals in France.

"Make no mistake about it, the games will be difficult, but you wouldn't be expecting any sort of walkover in playoff games," he is quoted as saying by BT Sport.

"The momentum swinging towards them doesn't bother me, it genuinely doesn't bother me. We have got ourselves into this position and we don't want to throw it away lightly."

Ireland finished third in their own qualifying group, three points off Poland who snatched an automatic berth in the final round of fixtures.
