Giovanni Trapattoni says that anything is possible for Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012.

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni is adamant that his side can be successful at Euro 2012.

Ireland find themselves in a difficult Group C alongside current holders Spain, four-time World Cup winners Italy and Croatia. However Trappatoni believes that Chelsea's Champions League success proves that anything is possible in football.

"I think we can have confidence. The opponents, we know - Spain, Italy, the same Croatia - are strong," said Trapattoni.

"But I said also to the players, the example is like yesterday evening when Chelsea beat Bayern when Bayern were favourites. That is very important."

When asked if his team would attempt to set up like Chelsea to frustrate their opponents, the Italian added: "We have other players, another attitude.

"It's not possible to choose a system or attitude. We have confidence about our mentality, our attitude - with this, we have achieved good results.

"I will say to the players we have to do what we have done until now."

Ireland host Bosnia-Herzegovina in a friendly in Dublin on Saturday.
