Preview: Rennes vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Ligue 1 encounter between Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain will be aiming to increase their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table for a few hours at least when they take on Rennes away from home on Saturday.

Laurent Blanc's side are currently two points clear of Monaco in pole position after 17 rounds of matches and will give themselves more breathing space with success at Route de Lorient.

PSG have suffered their first two defeats of the season in all competitions since the start of this month and will be hoping to get back their flow against a side who have lost just once at home in the league.

Rennes will be wary of the force of PSG's attacking unit that bottom-placed Sochaux faced the brunt of last weekend, going down 5-0 in Paris with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring twice.

Philippe Montanier's team will be no easy pushovers as they are in 13th place with 21 points from 17 matches, 10 points above the relegation zone and eight off the final European spot.

Saturday's hosts will be without defender Sylvain Armand, who was sent off during their 2-0 away loss to Lorient last weekend, while PSG will be able to name a full-strength team.
