Thierry Henry: 'David Beckham good for Ligue 1's profile'

New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry believes that David Beckham's presence in France is good for Ligue 1.

The 37-year-old midfielder joined Paris Saint-Germain on a five-month contract as a free agent in January.

"It is good for the French championship," Henry told L'Equipe. "Everyone talks about it.

"Now if you go to any website, the first thing you see is the French championship."

Beckham made his first appearance for PSG on Sunday when he came on as a substitute in their 2-0 home win against Marseille in Ligue 1.
