Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Wales's UEFA Nations League encounter with Republic of Ireland on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old sustained a minor injury during the closing stages of Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Alaves before the international break, with the forward missing out on facing Spain last Thursday in a bid to get fit for the trip to Dublin.
However, the FAW has revealed that Bale will play no part in the game, with the player instead returning to Madrid to continue treatment.
Real have an important week of fixtures, starting with a home clash against Levante in La Liga before travelling to Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.
Bale will hope to have regained full fitness when Real face Barcelona in El Clasico on October 28.
