Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery: 'Neymar should go back to Spain'

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery claims that Neymar should leave the French giants and return to Spain in order to play with the best players.

Former Arsenal and Paris Saint-German coach Unai Emery has said that Neymar should return to Spain in order to play with the best teams.

Emery coached Neymar at PSG for one season as they won the French domestic treble, but the Spaniard was fired as a result of his failure to succeed in the Champions League.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Emery said: "You hear a lot that he will return to Barcelona. I was also a participant in convincing him to come to PSG.

"Now that I am in Spain, I think Neymar has to come back. I think the best teams are in Spain and the best players have to be in the best teams."

Emery was fired from his job as Arsenal head coach in November 2019 following one of the Gunners' worst ever starts to a Premier League season.

It was reported that Emery had been approached for the Everton job following his dismissal, but he is now taking a break from football.
