Inter Milan players 'expect Lautaro Martinez to join Barcelona'

Barcelona are reportedly close to beating Real Madrid to in-demand Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Milan's players are reportedly expecting teammate Lautaro Martinez to leave the club and join Barcelona at the end of the season.

The Argentina international is said to be involved in a transfer tug-of-war between bitter rivals Barca and Real Madrid, while Premier League clubs have also showed an interest.

Martinez still has three years to run on his San Siro contract, but The Telegraph reports that a switch to Catalonia is the most likely outcome this summer.

Barca are said to be prepared to pay the £97m required to trigger the release clause of their top target, who is widely considered to be a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Former Racing Club ace Martinez has banged in 11 Serie A goals and a further five in the Champions League this term.
