Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos refuses to give up on catching Barcelona at the top of La Liga after seeing the gap reduced to 14 points.

Sergio Ramos has vowed that Real Madrid "will keep fighting" to retain their La Liga title after Wednesday's morale-boosting win over Leganes.

Los Blancos picked up their third top-flight victory in succession by recovering from a goal down to prevail 3-1 at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Despite getting their campaign back on track with 16 points from the last 18 on offer - only coming unstuck to Levante during that run - defending champions Madrid still lag 14 points behind Barcelona.

Ramos insists that the title race is not over just yet, though, telling reporters post-match: "These victories always help to boost morale. Despite the bad results, this is the path to follow.

"We've turned things around and we're achieving our objectives little by little. We will keep fighting in La Liga and will try to cut the gap by as many points as possible. We will keep improving and trying to concede as few goals as possible."

Madrid welcome Alaves to the Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon for their next taste of La Liga action.
