Cristiano Ronaldo: "My statements were misinterpreted"

Cristiano Ronaldo clarifies comments where he appeared to criticise Real Madrid's summer transfer business.

Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he was "misinterpreted" during an interview where the Portuguese seemed to criticise Real Madrid's summer transfer policy.

Last week, Ronaldo hinted that he disagreed with Los Blancos' summer business following the sales of Angel di Maria and Xabi Alonso to Manchester United and Bayern Munich respectively.

However, the attacker has said that his comments were taken out of context.

"My statements were misinterpreted. Yesterday I heard the president and I'm with him 100%," AS reports Ronaldo as tweeting.

"My new teammates are great! With them we have completed a great team. We're going for it all! A hug and Hala Madrid!"

Real Madrid return to La Liga action at home to Atletico Madrid next weekend.
