Real Madrid call press conference tonight

Real Madrid have called for a media briefing at 8pm CET (7pm BST) tonight in which they could announce the departure of coach Jose Mourinho. Speculation has increased in recent weeks that the Portuguese trainer and the Spanish club will part company following a disappointing season in which they failed to retain La Liga or progress to the Champions League final.

Madrid also lost the Copa del Rey final to city rivals Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Friday, with the club's fans now eager to see the back of the former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has been tipped to replace Mourinho at Madrid in the summer.
