Chelsea 'willing to offer Eden Hazard wage hike to ward off Real Madrid'

Chelsea 'to offer Eden Hazard wage hike'

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer Eden Hazard a bumper new contract to ward off interest from Real Madrid.

The Blues are ready to up the Belgian international's earnings to £300,000 a week in a bid to keep him at Stamford Bridge next season, according to Sport.

Hazard is under contract at Chelsea until 2020 but the club are said to be keen to lock him into fresh terms.

Recent reports, however, suggest that Real are reevaluating their interest in the player due to question marks around his current form.

Hazard has not scored in his last seven games and failed to make an impact during Chelsea's two-legged Champions League defeat to Barcelona.

The Belgian currently earns £200,000 per week at Chelsea.
