Carlo Ancelotti: 'Gareth Bale showed good attitude'

Carlo Ancelotti is happy with the way record signing Gareth Bale acquitted himself in Real Madrid's 2-2 draw with Villarreal.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has praised Gareth Bale's attitude following his goal in last night's 2-2 draw at Villarreal.

The £85m Welshman started his first game for Los Blancos at El Madrigal and marked the occasion by notching an equaliser after Cani had opened the scoring in the 21st minute.

"I think he is happy because scoring the first goal for Real Madrid is very good for him," Ancelotti told reporters.

"It was a difficult game for him, as for all the players, but he showed a good attitude on the pitch."

Cristiano Ronaldo gave the visitors a second-half lead but Giovani dos Santos struck six minutes later to seal a point for the Yellow Submarine.
