Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane confirms that Gareth Bale will not be available in time for Wales's international friendlies against France and Panama this month.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Gareth Bale will miss Wales's international friendlies against France and Panama later this month due to injury.

The 28-year-old has been sidelined since September's Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund and last month missed his country's crucial World Cup qualifying double-header against Georgia and Republic of Ireland.

Chris Coleman's side went on to miss out on a place in the playoffs courtesy of defeat to Ireland, and Wales will once again be without their talisman for the final international break of the year despite him returning to training earlier this week.

"Gareth is not called up [to face Las Palmas] and he is not going to go with his national team," Zidane told Spanish media outlet Marca.

"He has done two training sessions with us and we want him to stay with us so that he can be ready as soon as possible but with Madrid."

Bale, who had been included in Coleman's squad for the friendlies, has made just nine appearances for Madrid across all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
