Real Madrid's remaining fixtures ahead of La Liga restart

Ahead of La Liga restarting this weekend, Sports Mole looks at all of Real Madrid's remaining fixtures for the 2019-20 campaign.

Spanish top-flight action will resume this weekend after a break of more than three months caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

La Liga returns in an intriguing state too, with 11 games left and plenty of matters still to be decided.

Chief among those is the title race, which currently sees Real Madrid trail perennial rivals Barcelona by two points following their slip-up at Real Betis immediately prior to lockdown.

Los Blancos had regained control at the top of the table with victory in El Clasico at the start of March, but that was their only win from their last five outings across all competitions.

Zinedine Zidane's side will not have the Bernabeu to bank on when they return either, having decided to play the remainder of their home games at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano, which usually acts as their training ground.

The first visitors to the 6,000-seater venue will be Eibar, a team currently battling for survival with a two-place and two-point advantage over the relegation zone.

Madrid will be at their temporary new home again four days later when seventh-placed Valencia visit, before their first away game of the mini-season against Champions League challengers Real Sociedad.

The 13-time kings of Europe then face two of the current bottom three in succession - Mallorca at home and Espanyol away - before hosting another European hopeful in the form of Getafe.

Madrid will begin July away to Athletic Bilbao before hosting Alaves in their penultimate home game of the campaign.

Two of their last three matches come against top-half opposition - Granada and Villarreal - but they finish the campaign against a Leganes side who could already be consigned to Segunda Division football by that stage.
