Sergio Ramos: 'Result not completely fair'

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos suggests that his side's 1-1 El Clasico draw at Barcelona is 'not completely fair'.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has said that his side's 1-1 draw at Barcelona in El Clasico this afternoon was 'not completely fair'.

The league leaders had to rely on Ramos's 90th-minute header to salvage a point from the encounter after the hosts had taken the lead through Luis Suarez early in the second half.

"The team worked well and worked hard, but the result, based on my way of reading football, might not be completely fair," Ramos told reporters afterwards. "In the first half we had more goalscoring opportunities, but we lacked efficiency in front of goal. Yet our hard work has ultimately given us a late reward. A point is better than nothing."

The result maintained Madrid's six-point advantage over the champions in the table, but Ramos insisted that his side should not "go crazy" at this relatively early stage of the season.

"The six-point advantage over Barcelona is the prize for the hard work we've put in from the start [of the season]," he added. "But we shouldn't go crazy as there is a long way to go in the league. Yet it is better to have it in your own hands than in others'."

Next up for Ramos's side is a home encounter with Borussia Dortmund in their final Champions League group game in midweek, before they welcome Deportivo La Coruna to the Bernabeu in the league next weekend.
