Diego Costa to miss Champions League final

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa is expected to miss the Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday after scans revealed a grade one tear in his hamstring.

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa is almost certain to miss the Champions League final against Real Madrid this weekend through injury.

The 25-year-old aggravated a hamstring strain in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Barcelona, a result that secured the La Liga title for the capital outfit.

The Brazilian-born Spanish international underwent scans in Madrid earlier this afternoon, where a grade one tear was revealed in his right leg.

It is understood that the striker will spend 15 days on the sidelines.

As a result, Costa is expected to be fit for the World Cup.
