Paco Jemez unsure of Rayo Vallecano future

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez has admitted that he is unsure if he will continue as head coach of the Madrid side next season.

The Spaniard has been in charge of the La Liga club since 2012 and has been widely lauded for bringing an entertaining brand of football to the Vallecas.

However, the 44-year-old's current deal expires this summer and as it stands, there is no fresh offer on the table.

"I'm grateful to the fans who encourage me to continue. I would be delighted to stay on for another year, but that doesn't only depend on me. It depends on the club, in terms of money and a vision for the future. I can only do what I have done: give the club the possibility for me to renew," Jemez told Union Rayo.

"If that cannot be then nothing will happen. I will be eternally grateful to Rayo. I'm not closing the door on them or anyone else. My feelings are that a renewal is not going to happen.

"That's what I feel, but I don't know. Nothing is certain yet. As of today, I haven't signed with anyone. Hopefully I can sign on again and stay for another year."

Jemez also represented Rayo as a player in 2004.
