Former England striker James Beattie is in talks with League One side Sheffield United over a return to Bramall Lane.
The 33-year-old is a free agent after being released from his contract with Rangers last week.
Beattie played for the Blades between 2007 and 2009 and scored 34 goals in 62 appearances for the club.
