Rangers duo ask to leave club

Rangers' administrators have reportedly released duo Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik from their contracts after the pair requested to leave.

It is understood that the club's administrators, from London firm Duff and Phelps, have rejected the players' latest proposal of wage cuts, which has prompted lengthy talks regarding redundancies today.

It has emerged that Scotland Under-21s midfielder Wylde will no longer play for Rangers, while 21-year-old Celik has also left despite only moving to Ibrox this year, according to Sky Sports News.

Reports have also claimed that five players in total have asked to leave the struggling SPL champions.

The departures have yet to be confirmed by the administrators, who took charge of Ibrox last month.
