Date set for final Old Firm match of Scottish Premiership season

Date set for season's final Old Firm game

The final Old Firm derby of 2017-18 will take place at Celtic Park on April 29.

Rangers and Celtic's concluding showdown of the season was confirmed when the Scottish Premiership announced its post-split fixtures.

Old Firm fixtures are traditionally scheduled to avoid one being a league-settling encounter, but this scenario could occur if Celtic fail to beat Hibernian the weekend before and Rangers or Aberdeen win their game that week.

Other highlights of the post-split calendar include an Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibs on May 9, and final-day clashes between Celtic and Aberdeen at Parkhead and Hibs and Rangers at Easter Road.

Kilmarnock and Hearts, who have already made two trips to Ibrox this season, have each been forced to contest a third fixture there against Rangers due to an imbalance in the system.
