Raith Rovers boss delighted after Hibernian upset

Raith Rovers manager Grant Murray paid tribute to the performance of his players after the Championship side knocked Premiership Hibernian out of the Scottish Cup.

The Kirkcaldy club, who had failed to score in five games before their visit to Easter Road, led twice in the first half only to be pegged back before half-time.

But Grant Anderson's 63rd-minute winner was enough for Raith to reach the quarter-finals of the Cup and Murray believes that his squad showed confidence and plenty of effort in victory.

He told reporters: "I'm absolutely delighted, I think the players have to take credit for that.

"We always knew it would be difficult coming to a place like Easter Road against a very good Hibs side. To score three goals was magnificent and the effort was what was needed.

"I think it was just having that belief, you have to have the belief to make sure you're not just turning up here to make up the numbers.

Raith are currently sixth in the Scottish Championship.
