Loic Remy: Joining Queens Park Rangers "not the wrong choice"

Remy: Joining QPR "not the wrong choice"

Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy has insisted that joining the West London club was "not the wrong choice", despite the fact that they could be relegated from the Premier League.

Frenchman Remy, 26, could have reportedly chosen either QPR or Newcastle United when he moved in January, but he opted for Rangers because of Harry Redknapp's presence there.

"It was not the wrong decision to come here," Remy told The Telegraph. "I make a choice in my life and I never regret it. It's not the wrong choice.

"I'm sure that everyone on the pitch every week does give 100% no matter what anyone else says. We don't have frauds, liars in the team, or anyone who wants the club to go down."

Remy has impressed in England, scoring five goals in 10 appearances, but it doesn't look like it will be enough to keep QPR up.

Defeat at fellow strugglers Reading today would see QPR's relegation confirmed, meaning that Remy would almost certainly leave in the summer.

"If I stay or if I leave here I want people to say, 'When Loic Remy came to this club he gave his best. He was not sloppy, he tried his hardest, he did his best right to the end, the very end," said Remy.

"It is almost finished, of course. But we have four games left and we need to play with the same intensity, we must be professional and do that for the supporters."

Liverpool and Arsenal are two of the clubs that have been linked with a move for the frontman.
