QPR agree fee for Alex

Queens Park Rangers have reportedly agreed a fee for Chelsea defender Alex.

QPR recently made an improved bid, thought to be around £3.5m, for the 29-year-old centre-back after their original bid failed.

Chelsea are expected to replace Alex with Gary Cahill, who was in West London earlier completing his medical at the club.

Should personal terms be agreed between the two clubs, Alex will be new manager Mark Hughes's first signing at Loftus Road.

QPR are currently on a run of eight games without a win and travel to the Sports Direct Arena to face Newcastle on Sunday.
