Cesar happy to play in the Championship

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar has revealed that he would happily play in the Championship this season.

The Brazil international, who has not featured in either of the club's two league games so far, has been heavily linked with a move away following their demotion to England's second-tier last term.

Having seen a number of proposed moves fail to materialise this summer - including a switch to Arsenal - the 33-year-old admits that he would not be adverse to the idea of remaining at Loftus Road for the current campaign.

Speaking to reporters, Cesar said: "I have two weeks to define my future, but I have not decided anything yet.

"But it would not be a problem if I were to stay at QPR this season."

Cesar, whose current deal expires in 2016, joined the West London outfit from Inter Milan last summer.
