Harry Redknapp has claimed that he left Queens Park Rangers because he was "fed up" of hearing other managers linked to the job.
Redknapp stepped down as R's boss at the beginning of February after citing an immediate need for knee surgery, but the ex-Rangers manager has now claimed that he felt undermined at Loftus Road.
"I just got fed up of seeing your name in the newspaper that you were going to get sacked whenever we lost a game," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
"I heard someone else was coming and it was coming from somewhere [inside the dressing room]. In the end I thought 'I don't need this every other day'. I just got to the stage where I didn't need it and I was struggling with my knee.
"I spent my whole life working at clubs who were struggling. That's how you get the job in the first place, Portsmouth, Southampton was always going to be difficult, so it wasn't a case of throwing the towel in. Someone had their ear in with the newspapers and I thought 'I don't need this anymore'."
QPR take on local rivals Chelsea at Loftus Road this afternoon.
