"New challenge" prompted Park Ji-Sung's Queens Park Rangers switch

"New challenge" prompted Park's QPR switch

Park Ji-Sung has revealed that he swapped Manchester United for Queens Park Rangers because he was in need of a "new challenge".

The 31-year-old finalised his switch to Loftus Road this afternoon following a seven-year stint at Old Trafford.

Despite admitting that it was a hard decision to leave the Red Devils, the former South Korean international has revealed that he cannot wait to get his QPR career started.

"It is hard to leave such a big club like Manchester United but I had to make the decision. [QPR] showed me the way that they wanted to be," Park told reporters.

"It was time for me to have a new challenge and I think it is a great decision for me to join the club and progress. I'm looking forward to playing for QPR."

Park has signed a two-year contract with the R's.
