Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has welcomed news that his side will begin their new Premier League campaign at Loftus Road.
The West London side managed to secure their place in the top flight for another season on the final day of the campaign in May and will kick off their fresh challenge against Swansea City.
"In fairness in the past as a Premier League Manager I can't recall having too many home fixtures on the opening day, so it's a nice surprise!" Hughes told the club's official website.
"I'd much rather us be playing at a packed and buoyant full-house at Loftus Road on day one of the new campaign than being away home.
"It's great that it's come out that way, but it gets a little bit more difficult as we go through the months, especially September which looks a challenge. But that's the reason why we worked so hard to stay in this league - to have the challenges week in, week out, next season."
Meanwhile, the R's have already agreed the signings of Andy Johnson, Ryan Nelsen and Robert Green.
