Ferdinand to serve one-match touchline ban

The Football Association has announced that Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand will serve a one-match extended touchline ban after accepting a misconduct charge.

The 48-year-old was accused of insulting a match official in the tunnel at Loftus Road during a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

A statement from the FA read: "The extended ban prohibits Mr Ferdinand from entering the tunnel or changing room area at any time on a matchday in addition to being banned from the technical area."

Ferdinand has also been fined £12,000 following the incident.
